Manitoba Museum

We started today by visting the Manitoba Museum, which displays Manitoba's human and natural history. Walking through each gallery, we traveled through time from the prehistoric periode when plesiosaurs roamed the earth to the roaring twenties. We learned about many of Manitoba's native creatures, such as the beluga wale and the bison as well as life on the 17th century English boat, the "Nonsuch". Our favorite exhibit was the Hudson Bay Company Gallery, which showed us he history behind Hudson Bay's evolution as a trading company and department store. The gallery had many interesting aboriginal artifacts, such as paintings, tools, carvings, and clothing. We found the gallery very fun and enjoyed visiting.
